U.S. Soccer Grassroots Coaching Education Licenses: 7v7, 9v9 & 11v11

NEW THIS YEAR, Soccer Champions - working with event partners Connecticut Junior Soccer and Mass Youth Soccer - is offering attending coaches the opportunity to earn three of U.S. Soccer's newest licenses: the Grassroots 7v7, 9v9 & 11 Course Licenses. That's right, coaches will earn three licenses as part of this offering for an add-on cost of only $75.00 so long as they attend all the sessions outlined below and complete any assigned coursework. The $75.00 is a required U.S. Soccer fee which covers the cost to register you in their Digital Coaching Center for each of the courses ($25 x 3).

Please take a moment to review the sessions you are required attend to complete the Grassroots 7v7, 9v9 & 11v11 Licenses curriculum at Soccer Champions.

U.S. SOCCER GRASSROOTS LICENSE(S) NOTES

  • While there are no diploma or license prerequisites needed to take these licenses; we do encourage you to take your online U.S. Soccer F License. If you wish to pursue your U.S. Soccer D License down the road, U.S. Soccer requires you to have completed one online coaching education course and two in-person coaching education courses (by taking these Grassroots Licenses at Soccer Champions you will have satisfied the in-person coaching education course prerequisite as you will have earned 3 in-person licenses).
  • There is an additional fee of $75.00 to take these three Licenses at Soccer Champions (this covers the cost of registering you for each course in U.S. Soccer's Digital Coaching Center). Please check-off the U.S. Soccer Grassroots License add-on box when registering for Soccer Champions. If you wish to add it to your Soccer Champions clinic registration at a later time, please call the clinic office at 860-674-1500 and we can add it to your existing registration.
  • As part of your Grassroots 7v7, 9v9 & 11v11 registration, you will be registered in U.S. Soccer's Digital Coaching Center (DCC). The DCC will provide you with important course materials and provide you with other coaching resources throughout the year. Please note that registration may not occur immediately in the DCC as these new courses will not be launched until February 1, 2018.
  • There will NOT be a practical field test associated with these licenses. Coaches will complete all course work during Soccer Champions so long as they successfully attend all the required course as outlined above. This curriculum is a highly efficient way to earn three licenses.
  • Please be ready to assist with the Coaching Training Sessions and Coaching Games field sessions. The Grassroots License courses are designed to include “hands-on” experiential learning for coaches.
  • Please bring a notepad and pen to log your takeaways from each session and to add to your “Page of Experiences.”

We thank the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association and Massachusetts Youth Soccer for their administration of this license offering. Soccer Champions is honored to be one of the first places to offer these new licenses. Coaches who participate in this curriculum will be able to get three licenses -- Grassroots 7v7; Grassroots 9v9 & Grassroots 11v11 - during Soccer Champions.
